You Can't Breathe in a Diner in Space! is an episode of Monsters vs. Aliens. It premiered on January 25, 2014.
Synopsis[]
Dr. Cockroach sends the local diner to the moon, with B.O.B. and the President inside it. It wouldn't be a problem to bring them back, but moments after he was suspended from progressing with this experiment. Also, the president's precious air limit is dwindling. Now, our beloved mad scientist must somehow avoid General Monger and resupply his experiment before a familiar foe strikes.
Plot[]
It is Hamburger Day in the mess hall, and B.O.B. high-fives everyone while congratulating Hamburger Day. B.O.B. sees an interdimensional portal open up above one of the admins. A giant garbage can falls out of the portal and onto the admin. Doctor Cockroach rushes into the Mess Hall, apologizing for his involvement in this incident. General Monger confronts Dr. C about this and asks him if he is meddling with teleportation again. Doctor Cockroach confirms this, and says that he might have found a solution to the problem for his latest teleportation experiment. But Monger doubts this, saying that the giant trash can that crushed one of the finest hamburgers in the Western Hemisphere is proof enough that he hasn't even come close to a solution. Doctor Cockroach reaffirms that he will try again, but Monger disapproves and, because Area Fifty-Something can't suffer another teleportation-related incident, tells him that all teleportation-based experiments are hearby banned on his base, then leaves. Disappointed and consoled by B.O.B., Doctor Cockroach reveals that the problem is simply the fuel source, which is missing a key ingredient. B.O.B. suggests 3 times if the ingredient might be hamburgers, but Doctor Cockroach tells him that it's not really the solution to the fuel source. B.O.B. tries it anyway and, much to Doctor Cockroach's delight, reveals the ingredient to be burger grease. Doctor Cockroach thanks B.O.B., but B.O.B. tells him to thank the hamburger. Doctor Cockroach finds it funny at first, but finds that B.O.B. was being serious about it and literally thanks the hamburger. With his fuel source found, Doctor Cockroach heads off to test it, but B.O.B. stops him, reminding him that Monger specifically told Doctor Cockroach that he is no longer allowed to conduct any more teleportation experiments. Doctor Cockroach confirms this, but adds that he is not allowed to do any teleportation experiments...on the base.
Later at night, Doctor Cockroach and B.O.B. sneak into the Gas Station Diner, and then cook and squeeze the grease out of every burger in the Diner and into the teleportation device. Doctor Cockroach explains his plan to B.O.B.: he teleports into Monger's office, smugly tell him "I told you so", and then B.O.B. teleports him back to the Diner. B.O.B. only got the first part, so Doctor C tells him to pump the lever 3 times to activate it. But B.O.B. pumps the lever more than 3 times and blasts it, sending Doctor C flying out of the Diner before the Diner disappears in a flash of blue light...with B.O.B. still inside. He worryingly calls B.O.B. and asks him if he's alright. B.O.B. is fine, but tells Doctor Cockroach that the device is out of fuel. B.O.B. also tells him that he can see Earth outside the window. Much to Doctor Cockroach's shock and delight at the sight of the Earth on his phone, he realizes what happened: the teleportation device sent the Diner, and B.O.B., to the Moon. Doctor Cockroach laughs triumphantly at his teleportation ray's successful results. Though B.O.B. is stuck on the Moon, Doctor Cockroach tells him that his indestructibility and the spare oxygen in the Diner will keep him fine until he gets him home.
However, President Hatthaway exists the restroom, much to Doctor Cockroach's horror and B.O.B.'s surprise. The President reveals that he always sneaks into the Diner to use the restroom, as he needed a commode that felt like America, and then saluted at his own rear. After B.O.B. tells him that he's on the Moon, The President becomes delighted that he is actually on The Moon like a real astronaut, and he and B.O.B. have fun with the Moon's zero gravity, bouncing on the ceiling and the walls. B.O.B. and The President start to go exploring on the Moon, but Doctor Cockroach tells them to stop, and warns them that outside is the cold, airless, vaccum of outer space, and they will be dead the minute they step foot outside the Diner. Doctor Cockroach orders them to stay inside and keep the doors shut until he could find a way to get them home. Suddenly, beastly growling is heard. The President looks outside toward at the Moon's outdoor, lunar surface. Then, unexpectedly, the Zombie Moon Ape pops up and scares the President, causing him to scream and jump into B.O.B.'s arms. B.O.B. recognizes the beast and tells the President what happened:
The Zombie Moon Ape was originally the main monster of the titular horror movie he starred in. But when Sqweep watched it for her Earth Studies research on movie night, she got scared of the movie's terrifying content and used the memory extractor to remove the memory of watching it from her brain, but then the Memory Extractor caused the Zombie Moon Ape to come to life. It attacked Team Monster and almost wasted them until Sqweep entrapped him in a rocket cage and sent him to the Moon.
It was then revealed that B.O.B. told the entire story through his video scrapbook, which Doctor Cockroach thought nobody would want to see. Doctor Cockroach admits he's wrong, but then tells B.O.B. not to let the Moon Ape into the Diner. The Zombie Moon Ape starts banging on the Diner, attempting to get inside, much to B.O.B. and The President's horror.
Back on Earth, Doctor Cockroach thinks about what to do about the current situation: B.O.B. and The President trapped on the Moon without any fuel for the teleportation ray, while being attacked by a bloodthirsty monstrosity created from Sqweep's darkest nightmares. At the thought of Sqweep, Doctor Cockroach tells the duo his plan: he will use Sqweep's ship to fly up to the moon and bring a fresh batch of burger grease to fuel the teleportation ray and get them home before the Zombie Moon Ape tears them to pieces. He tasks B.O.B. with protecting the President until he arrives and asks if he can be trusted with that. B.O.B. agrees that he's up to the task, as he kept the President's nervous flatulence a secret. The President denies this, saying that B.O.B. must be talking about some other President, but proceeds to fart nervously, much to the Zombie Moon Ape's disgust.
In the mess hall, with the grill ready, Doctor Cockroach places a handful of meat patties onto the grill and prepares to cook them, but is caught by General Monger, who doesn't know of Doctor C's current situation and assumes that Doctor Cockroach is making a midnight snack. Doctor Cockroach confirms this, just to keep suspicions off him. Monger then asks him to cook a burger for himself, much to Doctor C's worry.
Back on the Moon, B.O.B. and The President barricade the door, and then taunt the Zombie Moon Ape, confident that he's not gonna get in. But then the Zombie Moon Ape smash through the roof, causing the oxygen to suck out. The President gets sucked out, too, but B.O.B. catches him. B.O.B. then tells Doctor Cockroach what happened and that they are trying to get as much oxygen as they can, but they worry it won't be enough. Doctor Cockroach quickly comes up with a solution: they can get into the Convenience Store, where there is enough oxygen for them to stay alive until Doctor C gets there. However, Doctor Cockroach tells them that in order to do that, they would have to go outside onto the Moon's surface...and into the cold, freezing, airless void. Monger hears this and gets suspicious. Doctor Cockroach tries to cover it up by telling Monger that what he really meant to say is that he's asking Monger if he's wants some condiments on his burger, but Monger isn't fooled. Doctor Cockroach squirts mustard and ketchup into Monger's face, grabs the barrels of burger grease and heads to Sqweep's ship. On his way, Doctor Cockroach tells B.O.B. not to take the President onto the Moon's surface without any protection from the lack of oxygen in the lunar environment. B.O.B. assures him that he will be the President's protection.
B.O.B. and The President, who is encased inside B.O.B., step out onto the Moon's surface with the Zombie Moon Ape on their tail. The movie monster attempts to attack them, but B.O.B. dodges and The President responds with a bunch of crazed nonsense, and B.O.B. agrees. Doctor C tells him his gibberish was from the lack of oxygen, which is causing the President to act super looney. B.O.B. bounces his way towards the Convenice store, but the Zombie Moon Ape gets in his way and B.O.B. and the President collide into him, and all three crash into the Convenience Store.
In the hangar, Doctor Cockroach loads the barrels of grease into Sqweep's ship, but is confronted by Monger, who tells Cockroach that he owes him 6 rolls of paper towel, a new uniform and an explanation. Doctor C doesn't have time for an explanation, but is informed by B.O.B. that the Zombie Moon Ape is in the Convenience Store. Finding himself in trouble, Doctor Cockroach admits that he wasn't honest with him and prepares to come clean to Monger, but squirts more condiments into Monger's eyes and quickly gets into the ship.
In the Convenience Store, B.O.B. restrains the Zombie Moon Ape from the mentally-wacked-out President, who is now thinking he's Ronald Regan. B.O.B. and The Moon Ape wrestle and the President, who stripped himself naked and now thinks he's a burrito samurai, attacks the Zombie Moon Ape with a burrito, but to no effect. B.O.B. pushes the President and the Moon Ape away, and then B.O.B. tries to tell him that the lack of oxygen...or the diaper...is making him nuts. The Zombie Moon Ape grabs B.O.B. and eats a piece of his head, but is disappointed that B.O.B. doesn't have a brain for the Moon Ape to eat. B.O.B. offers the monster a burrito. The President starts surfing on a subway sandwich. The Zombie Moon Ape goes after the President, but believes that The President doesn't have any brains either. He prepares to eat him anyway, but then Doctor Cockroach steps into the store with the teleportation ray. B.O.B. grabs him and holds onto him and the President as the Zombie Moon Ape is sucked out...along with the teleportation ray, which zaps the Diner back to Earth. B.O.B. congratulates Doctor Cockroach for saving them, but Doctor C gives half the congratulations to B.O.B. for keeping the President safe. The President, still loopy from the lack of oxygen, leaves. Doctor Cockroach feels confident that he can finally give his "I told you so" to Monger, but expresses disappointment when he remembers that the working teleportation ray, and the last teleportation experiment he might probably ever conduct, is still on the Moon.
Back on the Moon, the Zombie Moon Ape picks up the ray and examines it curiously, but then the Ray fires a beam at the Zombie Moon Ape, teleporting him to parts unknown... possibly to another universe...as the episode ends.

- When B.O.B. was asking about President Hathaway's diaper, his mouth barely moved.
- In Attack of the Movie Night, the real Zombie Moon Ape was black and white, just like its movie counterpart. But in here the ape is in color.
- It would of been impossible for the Moon Ape to teleport to Earth since he didn't pump it up and it ran out of grease most likely. But since the ray had a bit of juice left, It's more likely he may have been teleported into another dimension.
